Shop update!

Wednesday, July 23, 2014

As I mentioned last week I had a couple new items coming into the shop. Well, they're here and listed!

Both are made of a very stretchy, comfy knit cotton fabric and you can customize the size! Both are great and I love the colors!

July 23, 2009.

July 23rd, 2009. This day, five years ago, my life changed in so many ways. I held my baby boy for the first time ever and we began our wild ride together. He has been amazing and has shown me how to love and how to be loved. This boy was a miracle placed in my life for a very specific reason.

We had a birthday party for him on Sunday and I think he thoroughly enjoyed himself, being surrounded by his family. Happy birthday, my sweet boy!

The splash park.

Thursday, July 17, 2014

Today my husband and I, along with our two kids, drove 50 minutes to another town to check out their recently built splash park. It was great, the view was overlooking the river and it was just beautiful. We got there and played at the splash pad for awhile and then changed the kids back into their clothes so we could play at the playground. That was also fun. The kids were both pretty well enjoying themselves, until we had to leave. Huge melt down on both parts. They wanted to eat, but didn't want to eat. They wanted to play, but didn't want to play. They were frustrated, we were frustrated. My four year-old is going through a phase of testing limits and my two year-old is still trying to figure out how to explain her emotions (but, hey, I am 25 and I can't always do that)! Our day ended a little quicker than we had initially planned, but that's okay. And guess what? By the time we got back home, they had completely forgot about being upset.

It's hard to look beyond the present moment, when your children are angry and in tears (and yelling in  public)! It's easy to think you are the worst parent in the world. It's easy to think you are doing everything wrong. It's easy to compare yourself to every other parent in the park as they handle their perfectly composed children all while remaining perfectly composed. It's easy to do all those things, but the truth is that you are not alone. Every child has their moments and every parents has to figure out how to calmly manage their child's feelings. Whether you witness the frustration, or not, it happens. It's part of it. This is part of the journey, of everyone's journey. You can push through those rough moments. Just don't forget; you're not alone.

Do you have any super-human parenting tricks on dealing with those tricky moments?

Shop Restock

Hey guys! If you have recently been browsing through my shop and I have been out of something, I am working really hard to bring back some of your favorite products and also new things. If there is a specific design, or style, you're looking for leave me some feedback. I would be more than happy to help out!

Here are some things I have restocked this week:
This awesome black and white striped blanket went so quickly the first time I had it in the shop. It's so great because it's totally gender neutral AND modern.

This navy floral blanket is just beautiful. The design is gorgeous and perfect for any new baby girl (or not so new, because the size is completely customizable)!

And lastly, this orange and white striped blanket. I love it because it's a little outside the basic blues and pinks for new babies and is bright orange and so fun! This sweet blanket was also featured on Brit + Co's Top 20 Modern and Stylish Baby Blankets! Be sure to check that out, because there are some amazing products listed!

This personalized name blanket isn't necessarily a restock, but I am currently processing 4 different blankets for this, so it has definitely been a huge hit lately!

What was your favorite restock? Do you have a design you would like to see back in the shop?

I have something new coming SOON!
All I can say is: ANCHORS!

Favorite Things.

So, I want to share some things that I am currently loving so much!

How cute is this card?! I totally love it. Maybe I should buy it for my husband.

These shelves are so amazing! You can even customize them by choosing the wood color and the inside paint color!

I love everything that Wind and Willow Home produce. These would be perfect gifts for anyone (or just keep them for yourself)!

I love the colors and prints on this scarf available at Modcloth. It would be perfect over a basic t-shirt!

This is a great idea to add some color into your home! I definitely need to try this in ours, because we have so many bare walls!

What are some of your current favorite products/ideas?!

When All Think Alike.

Tuesday, July 15, 2014

Don't be afraid to think outside the box, even when fear of rejection hangs overhead.

Don't be afraid to pursue your dreams, even when failure haunts you.

Everything created starts from a small idea. Where would we be if everyone had been too afraid to think outside the box and create something new?

What are you holding yourself back from doing, saying, thinking? Don't be afraid to take chances. They are so rewarding when they pan out how we expect them to, or often times even better. Trust yourself. Have faith in yourself. Believe in you. You are amazing.
